How the repair works
The sound works, the TV responds to the remote, but the screen stays black: in most cases it’s the backlight. The LED strips behind the panel wear out and when one LED fails, the whole strip goes dark.
A quick test at home: turn the TV on and hold a torch right up to the screen. If you can make out the picture through it, the panel works and it’s the backlight. Replacing LED strips costs far less than a new TV.
TVs are bulky: repairs are done by appointment in Villefranche-sur-Saône and the area, not by post.

Frequently asked questions
My TV has sound but a black screen: can it be fixed?
Very often, yes: it’s usually the LED backlight, which can be replaced. Try the torch test: if the picture shows through, the panel works.
Can a cracked panel be repaired?
No. A cracked panel can’t be repaired, and replacing it usually costs almost as much as a new TV. We’ll tell you honestly at diagnosis.
