How the repair works
Drift is when the camera turns or your character walks while you’re not touching the stick. The cause is almost always a worn stick module: its internal tracks wear down over time and with dust. Recalibrating or cleaning only fixes it for a few days.
The real repair is replacing the module. On PS5 and Xbox controllers it’s soldered to the board: we desolder it and solder in a new module. On Joy-Cons, the stick is replaced with its ribbon cable. Every controller is tested before it goes back.
Repairing a controller costs far less than buying a new one, and keeps a working device out of the bin.
